Welcome to Green Professionals. Our goal is to create and implement environmental projects that reduce Australia's environmental footprint and provide ongoing benefit to our members. Working with local, state and federal governments, we are seeking to provide high quality assessments to the residential, SME and corporate markets.

Green Professionals are focussed on providing Australia’s Sustainability practitioners with pathways toward further development of their Green Collar businesses. With approximately 100 members Australia wide, Green Professionals provides a significant force as we endeavour to navigate the transition from Green Loans Assessment through to residential mandatory reporting of building efficiency as well as commercial sustainability services.

Why is Biodiversity Important?

Biodiversity is the result of millions of years of evolution and incorporates all organisms that make up life on earth, from micro-organisms to plants and animals, in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. Biodiversity embraces three main levels; genetic diversity – all the genetic diversity of individuals; species diversity – the estimated 30 – 50 million individual species on earth; and ecosystem diversity – the different communities and habitats and the ecological and biological processes that support them (1).

Born and raised on a farm near Mount Gambier (SA), Shane has an ingrained sense of the importance of looking after ‘the land’ in order to be able to sustain its ongoing productivity and to be able to pass it on to future generations. He went on to attain an honours degree in economics and is now combining his passions and interests as a freelance writer with a niche in the sustainability sector.
