Tell me about yourself

Hi all

Firstly, welcome, and thankyou for joining us! I am sure that Green Professionals will assist you in your path toward a sustainable career in the new "Green Collar" industry.

I thought I would get the ball rolling by telling you a little bit about myself and my role at Green Professionals.I have been an environmental assessor for the past five years, during which time I have completed assessments for clients such as the MCG, the Melbourne Magistrates Court and Sensis. In 2008, I co-founded Green Professionals' sister company, Sustainable Footprint.

Previous to this I worked in Tamil Nadu, India for 3 years at Pitchandikulam Bio-Resource Centre, an NGO delivering conservation and livelihood programmes to schools and womens self help groups. Whilst there I also developed projects in the areas of post-tsunami eco-restoration and livelihood development, computer learning centres, environmental education, reforestation and poverty alleviation.

Over the past 10 years of my professional career, I have watched as the environmental sector has grown and morphed into what it is today. One that is pulled by a need for urgent change, but constrained by economic and political obstacles. I see the role of the Green Professional as one that can faciliate effective change through informed, considered advice. I am excited that you have joined us in this journey.
